Saltwater Fridays

A one-day-a-week drop-off program for homeschooled kids who want friends, adventure, and a big dose of ocean science.

Who it’s for

Any homeschooled child in the Santa Barbara area who wants a weekly day of outdoor, hands-on learning with a small group.

What each day includes

  • Three hands-on learning blocks led by experienced mentors
  • Small, mixed-age groups with lots of individual attention
  • A field-study walk to somewhere on our waterfront campus
  • Snack and lunch outdoors, with time to make friends
  • Screen-free days

Rotating themes

Themes change every few weeks so kids sample a wide range of subjects over the year. Each day includes one block from each strand:

Move

Barefoot running, beach games, balance, climbing, swimming skills (ocean safety first).

Create

Art, nature journaling, storytelling, conversational Spanish.

Discover

Tide pools, harbor ecology, seabirds, weather and waves, simple field science.
